CELEBRATING 14 YEARS
Documentary film making is my passion, along with aromatherapy and recycling!
Since my early days in the media I was attracted towards the social sector, wanting to reach out to those without a voice. Therefore, after a 14 year long career as a journalist working in some of the foremost media houses, I chose to switch to making video films and providing communication consultancy to organisations, particularly NGOs.
I was fortunate to work for both national and international organisations doing some landmark work in areas such as health, nutrition, women's empowerment and child labour. From TB patients to expectant mothers, daily wagers to students of rural schools I have captured them all on camera or written about them. The experiences have been extremely satisfying and enriched me far beyond my years. Some organisations for which I have worked: Global Fund for AIDS, TB & Malaria, World Vision India, TB ACTION, The European Union, RIICO, Oracle, HPPI, European Investment Bank and many others.
Association with The Delegation of the European Union
I Have been regularly contracted by the The Delegation of the European Union in New Delhi and other European Institutions for making many important videos and documentaries since 2001.
One such film was made in 2012 to commemorate 50 years of EU-India friendship. This film was screened in about 1200 schools and other institutions to create awareness about the EU’s long and fruitful partnership with India. (See film below)
I also made a film on Women achiever’s of India titled ‘ Women who Inspire’ which featured luminaries such as mountaineer Bachendri Pal, community leaders of the Afro-Indian Sidhi community of Gujarat and human rights advocate and the first woman to be appointed as Additional Solicitor General Indira Jaisingh among others. This film was released by the EU Ambassador in India and screened at a large gathering of eminent citizens on International Women’s Day in 2014.
Have also assisted the European Union in its education outreach making nearly 40 videos related to studying in different countries of Europe and the advantages of the different universities targeted at Indian students.
Work as a media consultant
As a media consultant, I have had a long association with RIICO ( Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation) through IANS (Indo-Asian News Service) from 2011-2013. After 2013, I continued to work for RIICO on various media projects –
ü Authored 135-page Coffee table book “A journey of a thousand miles” in 2015, which was released by the Chief Minister.
ü Handling the Editorial and design of daily newsletter for ‘Stone mart’ and ‘Vastra’, two international business fairs held at Jaipur and organized by RIICO and FICCI for the past five years. (Images on Page 1)
