While maintaining high academic standards of excellence, our students learn to manage their time and take responsibility for their education. We are proud of our history in having graduates accepted to many of our nation’s finest universities, including Harvard, Princeton, Duke, U.S. Air Force Academy, University of California campuses, and many other selective higher education and career preparation institutions.
RAMONA COMMUNITY MONTESSORI SCHOOL (RCMS), is a Ramona Unified School District alternative school of choice. In response to parental requests for alternative schooling options, the Montessori Program was established in 1986.
Our curriculum is fully aligned to California State Standards, but guided in a non-traditional learning environment. It is our mission to be a peaceful, nurturing community where children grow academically and socially through the mastery of real life skills and knowledge. We encourage students to become independent thinkers, engaged learners, and positive contributors to our society by showing responsibility for each other and the world around them. Students who find success in this program are those who can learn early on to manage their time and attention, make productive choices, and thrive in a busy classroom. Montessori is a family choice, and best matches the child whose parents understand and support the philosophy of Montessori education.
