Q: Who can do a presentation?
A: Upperclassmen: Seniors and Juniors.
Q: How long are presentations?
A: Each presentation block is 35 minutes.
Q: Do I have to do the whole presentation by myself?
A: You can do an individual presentation or a group presentation (with up to four presenters).
Q: Can the same person do more than one presentation?
A: Absolutely! Many students participate in multiple presentations. The presentations will need to be in different categories (academics, culture, performance, community, experience) so you are not double-booked for the same timeslot.
Q: If I presented last year, can I present on the same topic again this year?
A: Yes, of course! Many students do popular presentations for multiple years.
Q: How do I sign up to do a presentation?
A: Fill out the google form that was emailed to you and click submit!
Q: Who will attend presentations?
A: Since Phoenix Fest is during a school day, all students will attend the sessions (like a flex day). There will be mixed grade levels in each room.
Q: How many students will attend each presentation?
A: There will be approximately 20 students scheduled to attend each presentation.
Q: Do students get to choose which presentations to attend?
A: Yes, students will sign up in advance for which presentations they prefer to attend. As far as possible, we will try to give students their choices, but to prevent overcrowding in the rooms, students may not always get their first choice.
Q: When will I find out which presentations I am attending?
A: Attendees will receive their Phoenix Fest schedule through email by the morning of the event.
Q: Will presenters get to attend the other sessions?
A: Yes! The advantage of being a presenter is that you are not assigned to certain presentations. Presenters will have the freedom to attend whichever sessions they want (as space allows).
Q: Can I have a representative from an outside organization come and do the presentation with me?
A: No. The focus of Phoenix Fest is on celebrating Raleigh Charter students. (A few extreme exceptions may apply; talk to Ms. Arcaro.)
Q: Can my parents attend Phoenix Fest?
A: No. But you can certainly practice your presentation by doing it for them at home!
