Online resources EPIC books
Opt out - Parents have the option to create a list of books, keywords, genres or authors that they do not want their child to check out from the libraries. We will put a note on your child's account that will notify the library aide what is/is not allowed. Please email the district librarian at melanconj@rainsisd.org with a list of preferences for your child. If you see a book on a classroom library list that you do not want your child to have access to please e-mail that teacher directly.
Notifications - You will receive an email each time your child checks out books from the library. This e-email will come from our library system (Follett/Destiny). This is to notify you what your child is currently reading and to maintain transparency. You can unsubscribe at any time. If you would like to re-subscribe please email Mrs. Melancon at melanconj@rainsisd.org
Meetings - The SLAC (School Library Advisory Committee) will meet at least 2 times a year. The meeting date will be posted here.
Meeting Date - Friday December 5, 2025 at 9:00 AM in the Intermediate Library
Meeting date - Friday February 6, at 8:00 AM in the Intermediate library
Meeting date Monday March 2 at 3:45 P.M. in the Intermediate library.

Classroom Library lists We have compiled a list of books accessible from classroom libraries. If you would like to know what books a teacher has please look for their name on the spreadsheet. Their classroom library list will be listed below.
