Language is broken down into two subgroup: receptive language and expressive language. Receptive language skills refers to the ability to understand what is said. Receptive language skills include following directions, understanding conversation, answering questions, and understanding stories. Expressive language skills refer to expression and the use of words.
Speech Sound Disorders
Speech sound disorders are errors or absence of sounds that continue beyond the expected age of development. These errors can impact how well your child is understood, as well as his or her reading and writing skills.
Social Skills
Social Skills refer to the skills used to help navigate social situations we encounter when we interact with others. We use neurodiverse affirming practices to support our clients in gaining new skills to use in social situations.
Evaluations
We provide comprehensive evaluations to support the development of evidence based treatment plans to target the areas your child has difficulty with. We are able to work off of speech and language assessments or goals that have been developed within the past year as well.
Parent Coaching
Each of our sessions include parent coaching to give families the tools they need to continue to support the child in using new skills at home.
