Communication is key to your student's success! Please check your student's red folder daily for notes from the teacher and the administrators. The red folders will come home weekly with the newsletter, as well as completed work. Our weekly newsletter has valuable information about your student's education and events.

Please send a note or call the school immediately when your student's transportation changes. We will follow what the parent has provided on the profile sheet unless otherwise notified by the parent. When writing a note to temporarily change your student's transportation, please include the drop-off address. 

Your student should bring home two books each night. They need to read those books (only one if they also have a chapter book) and be ready to take  an A.R. test the next morning. 

Your student will also have nightly math homework this year! This is a critical year to firm up their math skills in preparation for 3rd grade. If you have any questions, please let me know! 

We will have a snack every afternoon at 2:35. Please send a snack to school with your student. Your student will not have time to eat multiple snacks, please only send one! :)

Each Friday your student will have the option to purchase an ice cream. The cost is $1.00. You may prepay for the entire year for $36. If you decide to pay weekly, please place your student's money in an envelope with their name on it.  If your student chooses to eat ice cream, that will be their snack for the day. 

In 2nd grade, we LOVE to celebrate birthdays!

If you would like to send a special treat for the class to celebrate your student's special day, please let me know, and I will let the ladies in the front office know to expect you to drop it off. 

If you decide to buy cupcakes, we have 19 students in our class and we prefer for them to be all one flavor. For example: 19 chocolate cupcakes OR 19 vanilla cupcakes. Thank you for understanding. 

We will celebrate birthdays at lunch, 12:00, and you are welcome to join us then!
