Prototyping is the process of creating a simple experimental version of a real machine. It has been accepted as a method that can benefit a big deal and help human technology. There is also a study saying that this method of innovation can overcome problems in terms of time, cost, fidelity, and flexibility. One of the models of technology that can be utilized in prototyping is the LEGOMINDSTORM EV3 Robotic Kit, made by the LEGO company because of its suitability and higher fidelity as a prototyping tool. The study aims to design and program a prototype from its precedents. The prototype will be suitable for assisting people by carrying objects using the parts available in EV3 LEGO®MINDSTORM (45544) Core Sets. The results support the objectives of the study. The researchers proved that two sets of EV3 LEGO®MINDSTORM (45544) produce a prototype and program suitable for assisting people by carrying objects. The prototype named ACCIO - 1202 has undergone five design and program trials to attain the most of its capabilities. ACCIO represents a cart assistant robot as the researchers aimed and successfully programmed to Detect by the use of ultrasonic sensors, followed by four EV3 large motors. ACCIO can also change its programs from different modes - Follow Mode and Reversed Mode by receiving orders through the Touch sensors. The researchers also proved that by the capabilities of ACCIO, it can serve as an assistant robot through the experimentation conducted by the researchers in a small-scale hospital setting.
