About Me (Mrs. Jessica Burt):

     I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.  I grew up in Lanesboro, MN and graduated from Winona State University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a math emphasis.  During my final semester in college, I had the opportunity to student teach at Rushford-Peterson Elementary School.  I recently graduated from St. Mary’s University where I attained my Masters in Teaching and Learning. 

     This will be my 18th year teaching children.  Through the years, I’ve taught kindergarten, first grade, fourth grade, sixth grade, and reading & math intervention.  I have had a fun and busy summer preparing for teaching first grade and spending quality time with my family and friends.  I really enjoyed spending extra time with my daughter (Hillary) who is fourteen years old, my son (Hoyt) who is ten, and my youngest girl (Harper) who just turned three in August.  Some of my favorite activities are volleyball, basketball, swimming, fishing, hunting, and camping.

     Ever since I was a young child, my dream has been to become a teacher.  My enthusiasm for teaching is continuously growing.  I have taught for seventeen years and coached children of various age groups.  These experiences have made me realize that my passion in life is to help children.  It makes my day knowing that I have helped a child achieve his/her goals.
