(Involves a climb of around 1000 stairs, 

and the Glow worms are spectacular at night)

Between Summit Lookout and Kauri Loop Track 

Great for Trail running or walking - reasonable fitness required (easier to start from Kauri Loop track end as more gradual ascent)



Hakarimata Rail trail to Waterfall - then summit lookout

From Rail trail carpark to Waterfall is a flat 1.5km - allow and extra 1.5 hours climb to summit lookout and an hour back
