Homecoming WEEK 2024

Was it all a blur? Didn't attend? Read what you missed out on!

On Saturday night, October 18th, North Quincy High hosted its highly anticipated annual homecoming dance for 2024, gathering everyone on the dance floor! The school gym was magically transformed into a vibrant dance floor, complete with colorful lights and an incredible DJ spinning the latest hits. Students arrived in their finest homecoming attire, thrilled with excitement to reconnect with their friends and create unforgettable high school memories.

My Personal Experience at Homecoming '24

This was my first ever homecoming dance I've attended throughout my high school life. I had no intentions of going to homecoming this year, knowing that there'll be another one my upcoming senior year, but my friends were the one who motivated me to go this year.

The week started off with themed days such as "Pj day", "USA day", "Tropical day", and "Raider Pride day", I had tried participating in all four themes, wearing my new Hollister pajama pants and my NQ merch. I was so glad we had taken a day off due to Columbus Day, as I got stacked with so many assignments that week. I bought my hoco ticket on that Thursday and was all set to go, all I had left was to wait for Saturday afternoon to prepare myself. During that week, I had planned out how I would look, who I wanted pictures with, and what I would eat after homecoming.  My goal for the night was to have fun and hopefully make it memorable to add to my list of high school experiences.

As I arrived at Hunt Street, I felt the excitement from everyone walking in. My sister had done my makeup and helped prepare me for the night. I wore a pink dress from Lulus and my favorite pair of reeboks. At HOCO, I sang, danced, and had a blast with all of my friends. The music was a perfect mix of upbeat pop and classic throwbacks, and the DJ really knew how to get the crowd energized. The hospitality was great there, you waited in line to get your hand stamped and there was a place where you could leave your jackets and belongings behind the counter. There was a stand for snacks and pizza, and a place for you and your friends to do a 360 photo booth session.  I didn't end up getting anything from the snack stand, but I did go on the 360 photobooth a couple of times.

I would like to thank Mr. Gilbert, our school staff, and everyone who was there to make homecoming possible.

If I am being honest,  my highlight of the night was the "after-party" at Mcdonalds; catching-up, laughing, and making the night even more memorable with my friends. Overall, I would recommend everyone going to homecoming at least one time in their life to experience it. I would definitely come back again to attend homecoming for my senior year.
