We are a group of medical research professionals who want to understand the issues facing people with aging issues, and the concerns that they have about them. Many people who are concerned about their brain health are looking at life-style approaches, like improving sleep, diet and exercise. Many are also using supplements or drugs that they feel may help. Some are looking at brain training applications on their phones and computers to keep their mind sharp.
This project is a simple screening and enrollment process to establish a baseline with a quarterly follow-up to see how people are changing over time. It is designed to take only a few minutes and have a very minimal impact on the people involved.
This study is open to any adult who can read English and has access to the Internet on a phone, tablet or computer. Also, the information can be entered by a caregiver as well.
We have designed this study to be of minimal impact on the participants. If you participate, you will not receive compensation, but we may provide you ideas about life-style based changes that you might make to improve your health. Further, you will receive periodic updates about the overall understanding that comes out of this research.
This study should be easy to complete. If you decide that you would like to consider participating, click on the “Participate” menu item above and you will be asked questions about your health and background. Before you are enrolled, you will be given information about what will be required of you during the course of the study and you will be based to sign an electronic consent. You will receive a copy of your signed document by email.
There is no cost to you for participating.
We are hopeful that you will complete the study if you begin, but there is no requirement to do so. If you decide to stop participating, you can let us know via email (aliveproject@quesgen.com) that you do not wish to continue. Stopping participating, or deciding initially to not participate will have no impact on any other medical treatment that you are currently receiving.
No information will go into your medical record. The information that you provide will be held in confidence and no information will be provided to any third party, including your doctors, about anything that you tell us.
The data for the research study is stored in secure servers and are subject to the same HIPAA requirements and security considerations as your electronic medical record.
Please email Mike Jarrett, Vibeke Brinck or Barbara Maley with your questions or concerns.
