Restorative Practices

RESTORATIVE PRACTICE

Restorative Practice is a relational approach to managing positive, respectful relationships within the school. It focuses on building and maintaining positive, respectful relationships across the school community and provides the framework to maintain and restore relationships.

By building and maintaining positive, respectful relationships within a school, staff to staff, staff to student and student to student, issues are more easily managed.

Restorative conversations happen at all layers of the school and form the bases of our behaviour management guidelines. Unpacking all incidents allows staff to establish what has happened, who was affected and what needs to happen next to repair and restore relationships.

Refer to our behaviour management guidelines for more details on how we use Restorative Practice when unpacking incidents at Queenstown Primary School.
