The students will explore and experiment creatively with a variety of manipulative art materials. The students will engage in activities which will foster the development of imagination and discovery skills. The students will be introduced to "artist's words" to build their vocabulary.

Pictured: Textured Pattern Blanket with yarn fringe! We rolled special pattern dice to choice patterns for each section, students carefully crumpled and uncrumpled their patterns to make them feel soft like a blanket.

Students will apply knowledge of color to their artwork. Such as color mixing and color schemes. Students will be aware of how pattern, texture, color, line, balance, and shape are used in art. Memory drawing and observational drawing. Exploring a famous artist's style and engaging in that style of artwork.

Students will add to their vocabulary of artist's words, learning about more artists and exploring their specific criteria, while also delving into their own unique styles and aesthetics.

Students will continue working on developing a personal aesthetic based off of learned experiences in the space. Students will add to their vocabulary of artist's words. Basic perspective and developing drawing skills. Continuing to practice with color theory before moving onto seventh grade.
