Vision of Department of Medical Chemistry

          The vision of the Department of Medicinal Chemistry is to advance our understanding of the biological and chemical processes that occur in the human body and influence health and disease. We aim to apply this understanding to develop and improve medical treatments and diagnostics. We also seek to understand the mechanisms of chemical reactions in various diseases and their impact on the body's organs and their function. We seek to expand the boundaries of knowledge in the field of medical biochemistry through research, development, and cooperation with other entities with a common interest in the field of health and medical sciences. Our vision is to improve our understanding of biological and chemical processes and clinical biochemistry applications for the human body and to apply this understanding to improving health care. We work to develop and use modern methods and techniques in the field of biochemistry to analyze clinical samples and reach accurate and reliable results. We also seek to improve our understanding of the relationship between chemical changes in the body and various diseases, through scientific study and data analysis. The vision of the Department of Medicinal Chemistry for medical students is to provide the necessary education and training for students in the field of biochemistry and medical applications. We seek to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand the chemical processes that occur in the human body and their impact on health and disease.

Message

             The branch’s mission is part of the college’s mission, which includes making first and second year students benefit from the information in the specialty of clinical biochemistry in understanding other subjects of the college’s requirements in order to be doctors capable of meeting the integrated health needs of the individual and society, which in turn leads to building a healthy society. From diseases and epidemics, preparing all the requirements for scientific research for teachers, providing solid and advanced scientific research, participating in the training of graduate students, and keeping pace with scientific development in other universities inside and outside the country.

Objectives

One of the most important goals of the branch of medicinal chemistry is:

1- Communicating the importance of clinical biochemistry to primary studies students in understanding health problems and finding solutions to them

2- Explaining the importance of scientific experiments in clinical biochemistry to students in the branch’s laboratories while conducting these experiments themselves and the importance of this in their scientific career.

3- Holding scientific activities (seminars, courses, discussion groups, workshops) with the participation of faculty members and the presence of students in order to spread scientific awareness among the branch’s staff.

4- Participation in scientific conferences held by the college or colleges that are related to the branch inside and outside the university and also outside the country.

5- Conducting academic and applied scientific research in order to keep pace with scientific development in clinical biochemistry.

6- Obtaining distinguished academic titles for branch teachers, within the time limit applicable to academic promotions.

7- Preparing the necessary human cadres of graduate doctors who work in several specialties in the faculties of the medical group in universities and hospitals.

8-Exchanging scientific expertise and competencies with similar departments inside and outside the country.
