Permissions used by the Wi-Fi Scan - Show Wi-Fi App:
1) CAMERA: We request camera permissions to scan QR codes or barcodes of nearby Wi-Fi hotspots using your device camera, to automatically detect network details. All images are captured and processed locally on your device only for this purpose.
2) ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION and ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION: These permissions allow us to get your precise or approximate location to detect Wi-Fi hotspots nearby in real-time. Location data is neither stored nor shared with any third party. It is only used to find relevant networks around your current area.
3) CHANGE_WIFI_STATE: This allows the app to programmatically connect you to open/known networks listed in the app without needing to go through Android settings each time. It helps provide a seamless on boarding experience.
4) POST_NOTIFICATIONS: We may use notifications to alert you about Wi-Fi connection issues, new hotspot additions or important updates regarding app services/features. Notifications never include any private/sensitive user data.
5) INTERNET: Grants access to the internet, essential for network operations and fetching data. This permission allows the app to connect to the internet to download network lists, updates and installs.
6) ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Allows access to information about networks. This permission is needed to detect nearby Wi-Fi networks and their signal strengths for connectivity troubleshooting.
7) NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES: (If applicable) Grants access to nearby Wi-Fi devices. This permission allows the app to detect Wi-Fi devices within range to automate configuration and connection where possible.
8) ACCESS_WIFI_STATE: Allows applications to access information about Wi-Fi networks. This provides the app insights into active/known network connections for optimum Wi-Fi management.
9) SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM: Allows the app to schedule exact alarms, useful for timing-based features. Precise alarms can ensure automated operations like periodic network scans run smoothly.
10) USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT: Allows the app to use full-screen intents. This improves the app launching and connectivity experience through immersive full-screen workflows.
11) WAKE_LOCK: Prevents the phone from sleeping, useful for background operations. Background tasks like notifications and auto-connections require the device to stay awake.
