1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Vuay Online Services Pvt Ltd (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and handles information in connection with the Restorly: Photo & File Recover mobile application (the “App”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. Please read it carefully before use.

2. Information We Collect

The App accesses certain data on your device to deliver its core file recovery features. Here is a precise breakdown of what is accessed and why:

A. Device File Storage (All Files Access)

To scan for deleted or hidden files, the App requires broad access to your device storage, including files that exist outside the standard media library. This access is used exclusively to search for, preview, recover, and permanently delete files within the App. We do not upload, transmit, collect, or share any files or file content from your device. All file scanning and recovery operations are performed entirely on your device.

B. Contacts

The App reads your device contact list to scan for deleted contacts and to create a contacts backup. The App writes to your contacts to restore recovered contacts or to restore a saved backup. Contact data is accessed only to perform recovery and backup operations within the App. It is not uploaded, transmitted, or shared with any third party.

C. Notification Access (Notification Listener)

The Message Recovery feature uses Android’s Notification Listener service — a special system-level permission granted separately in device settings — to detect and reconstruct deleted chat messages and shared media from the apps you select to monitor. This access is limited strictly to the apps you choose. Notification content is processed on-device only to power the message recovery feature and is not uploaded, stored on our servers, or shared with any third party. You can revoke Notification Access at any time in your device’s system settings.

D. App Performance Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics and Google Analytics to understand how the App is used in aggregate — for example, which features are accessed most often and how the App performs across different devices. This data is anonymized and is not linked to your identity.

E. Advertising Identifier & Device Information

We use the Android Advertising ID along with general device information such as device model and operating system version to deliver relevant ads, measure ad performance, and help our advertising partners detect and prevent fraudulent activity. This is not linked to personally identifying information.

3. Log Data

When an error occurs in the App, we may collect diagnostic information through third-party tools, referred to as Log Data. This may include your device’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, device name, operating system version, App configuration at the time of the error, the time and date of occurrence, and other related statistics. Log Data is used solely for debugging and improving App stability and is not linked to your identity.

4. Cookies

The App itself does not use cookies directly. However, some of our third-party advertising and analytics partners may use cookies and similar tracking technologies. You can review each partner’s practices through the privacy policy links in Section 5.

5. Third-Party SDKs Used in This App

Restorly uses the following third-party services to deliver ads, measure performance, and support core functionality. Each provider operates under its own privacy policy, linked below:

Note: this list reflects the SDKs currently integrated into Restorly. If we add other partners in the future, this section will be updated before that change takes effect.

6. Permissions Used by This App

Restorly requests the following Android permissions, each tied to a specific recovery or utility feature:

• All Files Access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) — Required to perform deep scans of device storage for deleted or hidden files, including files outside the standard media library. Used only for scanning, previewing, recovering, and permanently deleting files within the App. No files are uploaded or shared.

• Read External Storage (Android 12 and below) — Used as a fallback on older Android versions to scan for photos, videos, audio, and documents. No files are uploaded or shared.

• Write External Storage (Android 9 and below) — Used to save recovered media files (images, videos, documents) back to device storage on older Android versions.

• Read Contacts — Used to scan for deleted contacts and to create a contacts backup. Contact data is not uploaded or shared.

• Write Contacts — Used to restore recovered contacts back to your device or to restore contacts from a saved backup.

• Notification Access (Notification Listener) — A special system permission granted separately in device settings. Used only to detect deleted messages from the chat apps you choose to monitor. Can be revoked at any time in system settings. Notification content is processed on-device and never uploaded or shared.

• Internet — Used to load and display ads within the App.

• Network State — Used to check internet connectivity and ensure the App functions properly when online features are available.

7. Service Providers

We may engage third-party companies and individuals to support delivery of the App and its features. These service providers have access to information only as necessary to perform tasks on our behalf and are not permitted to use or disclose it for any other purpose. Reasons we may engage service providers include:

• Delivering and measuring advertising within the App

• Analyzing App usage and performance

• Diagnosing technical issues and supporting App maintenance

8. Advertising

Restorly is free to use and is supported by advertising delivered through Google AdMob and its mediation partners, including Pangle, Mintegral, AppLovin, Liftoff Monetize, and Meta. You can review or adjust your ad personalization settings at any time through Google’s Ad Settings page. Ad partners may use your advertising ID and general device data to serve relevant ads, governed by their own privacy policies linked in Section 5.

9. On-Device Processing & Data Minimization

Restorly is designed so that all sensitive data operations happen entirely on your device. Files scanned during recovery, contacts accessed for backup, and notifications read for message recovery are all processed locally and are never uploaded to our servers, transmitted to third parties, or stored outside your device. The only data that leaves your device is anonymized analytics and the advertising ID used by ad partners, as described in Sections 2D, 2E, and 5.

10. How We Protect Your Information

• All file scanning, recovery, and deletion operations run on-device — no file content is transmitted to our servers at any point.

• Contact data accessed for backup and recovery remains on your device and is not shared with any third party.

• Notification content accessed for message recovery is processed on-device only and is never uploaded or stored by us.

• Analytics data is aggregated and anonymized; it is not linked back to you individually.

• We apply reasonable technical safeguards to protect information that passes through our systems, though no method of digital storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.

11. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (GDPR):

• Request access to the personal data we hold about you

• Ask us to correct inaccurate data

• Request deletion of your data where applicable

• Ask us to restrict how your data is processed

• Receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format

• Object to processing carried out under legitimate interest

If you are located in California (CCPA):

• Ask us what categories of personal information we collect and why

• Request the personal information we have collected about you in the past 12 months

• Opt out of the sale of personal information — note that we do not sell personal information

• Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions

• Exercise any of these rights without facing reduced service or a worse experience

To exercise any of the above rights, contact us using the details in Section 14. We will respond within 45 days of verifying your request, with a possible extension of a further 45 days for complex requests, with notice to you.

12. Children’s Privacy

Restorly is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children in that age group. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can investigate and remove it promptly, consistent with COPPA and other applicable laws.

13. Data Retention

Files accessed during scanning and recovery are not retained by us at any point — all operations run on-device only. Contacts accessed for backup are stored locally on your device in a backup file that you control; we do not retain a copy. Notification content accessed for message recovery is processed in real time on-device and is not stored by us. Log data collected for diagnostic purposes is kept only as long as necessary to resolve the relevant technical issue. Data processed by our analytics and advertising partners is retained according to each partner’s own retention policy, linked in Section 5.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the App evolves or as legal requirements change. Any updates take effect as soon as they are posted on this page. Continuing to use the App after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We recommend checking this page periodically to stay informed.
