Nestloop: Live Location Share
Last Updated: September 22, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains what information Nestloop ("we", "us") collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Nestloop lets people who have accepted each other share their location, set safe zones and chat. By using the app you agree to this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only what the features need:
• Profile: the display name you enter and the invite code the app creates for you.
• Location: precise location (GPS, Wi-Fi and network) while sharing is on, including in the background when you allow it, plus the address shown for that position.
• Location history: recent positions of members of your circle, kept so the app can show where they have been, while sharing is on.
• Safe zones and saved places: the name, position and radius of zones and places you create.
• Connections and groups: the friends and groups you join, accept or create.
• Chat: messages and locations you share in one-to-one or group chats.
• Device information: battery level (shown to your circle), app version, device model and OS version, and a push notification token.
3. Log Data
When the app has a problem, our services and Firebase may record log data such as your device model, OS version, app version, the time of the event and crash details. This helps us fix bugs and does not include your messages.
4. Cookies
The app does not use browser cookies. Advertising and analytics SDKs may use device identifiers (such as the Android advertising ID) in a similar way. You can reset or delete the advertising ID in your Android settings.
5. Third-Party SDKs
The app uses these services, which have their own privacy policies:
• Google Play Services: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en
• Google Maps Platform: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en
• Firebase (Analytics, Cloud Messaging, Realtime Database, Crashlytics): https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
• AdMob: https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543?hl=en
• Pangle: https://www.pangleglobal.com/privacy/enduser-en
• Mintegral: https://www.mintegral.com/en/privacy
• AppLovin: https://www.applovin.com/privacy/

• Meta Audience Network: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/
6. Permissions Used
• Precise Location (GPS) — Core permission for live location sharing, Zone alerts, and SOS. Location is transmitted to our servers only to display your position to connected family and friends you have chosen to share with.
• Approximate Location — Fallback location when precise GPS is temporarily unavailable. Always requested together with precise location per Android requirements.
• Background Location — Required for live location sharing, Zone arrival/departure alerts, and SOS to function when the App is minimized. Granted through a dedicated Android system permission screen. Can be revoked at any time in Settings.
• Post Notifications — Used for Zone arrival/departure alerts, friend request notifications, SOS alerts, and the ongoing foreground service notification while location sharing is active.
• Foreground Service & Foreground Service Location — Used to keep the location sharing service running reliably in the background. A persistent notification is always shown while the service is active, giving you full visibility and control.
• Receive Boot Completed — Used to automatically resume the location sharing service after the device restarts, ensuring Zone alerts and SOS remain active without requiring you to manually reopen the App.
• Internet, Network State & Wi-Fi State — Used to sync real-time location updates, Zone data, friend connections, and Circle data with our servers, and to load advertising content.
7. Service Providers
We use Firebase (Google) and our own servers to sync locations, chat messages, zones and friend requests between the members of a circle. These providers process the data only to run the service for us.
8. Advertising
The app shows ads through AdMob and its mediation partners listed above. They may use your advertising ID and coarse device information to show and measure ads. Your precise location and chat messages are not shared with ad networks. You can opt out of personalised ads in Android Settings › Google › Ads.
9. On-Device Processing & Data Minimization
Your location is shared only with the people and groups you accepted. Nobody can see your location without your consent, and the app never shares it publicly. We do not sell your location or personal information. Map display and nearby-place search use your position only to draw the map and list places.
10. How We Protect Your Information
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Access to our databases is limited to the services that run the app. No method of storage or transfer is completely secure, but we use reasonable measures to protect your information.
11. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
You can:
• Stop location sharing at any time in the app, or turn off the location permission in Android settings.
• Leave a group, remove a friend or delete chat messages.
• Ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it, by writing to the contact email below.
• If you are in the EU/UK you may also object to processing or complain to your data-protection authority. If you are a California resident you have the right to know, delete and not be discriminated against; we do not sell personal information.
12. Children's Privacy
Nestloop is meant for adults sharing with family and friends. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. A parent who shares location with a child must have the child's knowledge and follow local law. If you believe a child under 13 gave us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Data Retention
We keep your profile, connections, zones and chat while your account is active. Location history is kept only as long as needed to show recent places (we recommend 30 days) and is then deleted. When you ask us to delete your account, we remove your data from our active systems within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep it.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. We will change the effective date above and, for important changes, show a notice in the app.
