The following website may be of assistance in choosing nut-free options:
----------------------------------------------------
This year we will be asking that you send in a snack clearly labeled with your child's name each day. This will be in place of the "snack calendar" that we used to do in Pre-K. We are hoping that this way your child always has something they like to eat for snack (it must still be made in a nut-free facility) and this way parents don't have to remember to bring a snack in to share with the class a few times per month on a designated day.
We ask that your child's snack is healthy (no candy or fruit snacks or fruit roll-ups, please) and it needs to be made in a nut-free facility. Some great choices are goldfish crackers, animal crackers, pirate's booty brand cheese snacks, dry cereal made in a nut-free facility, pretzels made in a nut-free facility, pringles chips. More snack ideas can be found below.
Please note that snacks need to be shelf-stable and not needed to be stored in a refrigerator. If snack requires a disposable spoon, please provide.
We ask that you make sure that your child's snack is labeled as "snack" so as to not be confused with your child's lunch.
Please be sure that all snack items adhere to our classroom nut-free policy. Refer to the snack suggestions on www.snacksafely.com and make sure items you purchase contain no nuts, and are not processed in a factory that processes nuts of any kind. Thank you!
Daily Snack Time - Pre-K children will enjoy a snack every afternoon at school before dismissal. It will provide time for relaxed conversation and practice using polite table manners.
**Please read food labels carefully due to food allergies. Below are some healthy nut-free snack suggestions. For more ideas, please visit www.snacksafely.com

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS
We happily celebrate Birthdays! On the day of your child's scheduled Birthday celebration, you may send in a nut-free snack to share with the class.
For Birthdays, please be sure to send in a store-bought, pre-wrapped snack clearly labeled with allergy information. All Birthday treats must be pre-wrapped and store-bought with labels clearly stating the snack is peanut safe. Timbits (and their equivalent) and homemade treats are not permitted in our classrooms. If you are sending in cupcakes, please send in mini cupcakes (not large ones) that are store bought and clearly labeled. Please note that cupcakes are not allowed in our classroom. They will be stored in the office for the morning. Children are only permitted to eat cupcakes in the lunchroom after they are done eating lunch. Thank you so much for your support!
Note: If you wish to send in goody bags to share with the classroom to add to the Birthday celebration, you may do so! Children will be sent home with them and open them after school that day! Our snack calendar will note how many children we currently have in class.
Birthday invitations:
If you are interested in sending in Birthday invitations for the entire class (for a private party that you host), you may do so! It is policy that all children in the classroom are invited. If not, we can make different arrangements. :)
