We are crazy for C in PreK 3! We read The Very Hungry Caterpillar and If You Give a Cat a Cupcake. We listened and followed directions to glue our colorful circles to make a letter C caterpillar art project. We danced along to Drive My Car, I Know a Chicken, Hayride, The Wiggle Dance and There Was a Crocodile! We celebrated two friends birthdays this week with dance parties and grooved along to our Going on a Leaf Hunt song and found a caterpillar! We are loving our fall fingerplays and counting songs Five Little Pumpkins and Pumpkins, Ghosts and Witches. We went on black and orange color hunts and painted two paper plate pumpkins - one big, one small. We finished making our Pete the Cat paper plate craft by gluing on his eyes, nose and whiskers and gluing our colorful button onto our Corduroy bear. We enjoyed drawing our first journal entry - God Made Me! and all of our centers this week. We especially loved the sand table, Play-Doh, Legos, Magna-tiles, writing boards, building with blocks, caterpillar lacing apples & watermelons and our color sorting pie.

This upcoming week we will introduce the letter D and continue to do activities for the number 2, colors orange and black and the circle shape. It's going to be a DINO-mite week with dinosaurs for letter D! We will make an orange Jack-o-Lantern pumpkin and paint a black bat art project. We will learn about fire safety and the UMFD will be coming to visit on Friday with the fire truck! We will be making a shape fire truck project too!
