What a SPOOK-tacular week in Pre-K3! We had a wonderful time celebrating Halloween this week! We read There Was an Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything and loved acting out the movements. We used real pieces of clothing for each movement and even built a scary pumpkin head scarecrow of our own! We enjoyed celebrating our differences with our Spookley the Square story. We did a Spookley shapes listening and following directions worksheet to find, color and count squares, circles, triangles and rectangles. We read Room on the Broom and did a listening and following directions activity to find the color crayon and color the characters from our story while we said our spell to pull each one from the cauldron. Our prayer buddies came over for a visit and we made a spooky shape haunted house together - we found each shape and said its color to create a one of a kind spooky haunted house! Of course this week had lots of Halloween songs to dance too, Halloween fingerplays and pumpkin bubbles! Our Halloween parade was wonderful - we loved showing off our costumes to everyone - and our party and games were great! It was such a great Halloween celebration - thank you to our helpers and to all who sent in items for the party!!!
This upcoming week we will introduce the letter F, the colors yellow and brown, the number 3 and the square shape and do activities for them. We will start celebrating God's gift of Fall and Friendship. We will make our fall tree and scarecrow projects.
