Curriculum
The Technology and STEM (Robotics) curriculum is Archdiocese-based for elementary technology competencies. The competencies covered will include:
General technology
Information input (keyboarding and manipulation skills)
Digital citizenship (safety and ethical behavior)
Computer and information security issues
Communication (word processing skills/social media)
Investigative (research skills/interactive discovery)
Data analysis using spreadsheets and database skills.
Presentation and multimedia skills, and design (photo editing and web design skills).
Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of computers and technology in general. Students will be guided in the primary care and use of computers and technology
How to treat technology (no food and no drink), cleanliness, and respect for property
Identify and recognize parts of computer/digital devices; learn terms/vocabulary and purposes
The proper way to turn on and off devices
How to move about devices using a keyboard and mouse
Explore icons and their functions
Digital citizenship and leadership
Safety using computers and games
Using computers to make (holiday cards, pictures, and posters)
Students will expand their basic knowledge of computers, technology, applications, and programs.
Ethical use of technology, the Internet, social media, and artificial intelligence
Age and user-level digital citizenship and leadership
Safety using computers, gaming, and social media platforms
Keyboarding and typing skills using proper hand and finger placement for accuracy
Using document and data processing tools to create, edit, save, and share document files; students are encouraged to use computing technology for their other class assignments
Data storage and access - where to store/save and how to access/retrieve files

Drives: flash drive (USB), external hard disk drive, SD card, internal drive, network, cloud services
Navigate the user's Desktop
Explore basic coding/programming for gaming, animation, and creating apps
Explore artificial intelligence (AI)
Prepare and submit a midterm and final project
Students will further expand their knowledge and use of computers, technology, applications, and programs.

Enhance their keyboarding and typing skills using drills
Explore basic coding/programming for gaming, animation, and creating apps
Introduction to computer and information security /cybersecurity
Continue exploration of artificial intelligence (AI) and its ethical implications
