About the Trail
The Presidents Trail is a 5 mile roundtrip hike through downtown Quincy, Massachusetts. It tells the story of John Adams (2nd President of the United States) and John Quincy Adams (6th President of the Unite States). The trail takes you from their birthplaces to their final resting place.
This walking tour permits visitors to discover more than 10 historical sites. The trail is marked by sidewalk stickers and emblems on telephone poles that will lead you from site to site.
While on the trail you are not required to pay admission at sites to earn the trail awards.
Registered youth and adult members of the BSA can qualify for the Presidents Trail Medal and Patch. All hikers must wear as much of the official uniform as possible. BSA policy requires two (2) adult leaders on all trips and tours. The tour leader in charge must be at least 21 years old and accompany the group at all times.
Scouts on the trail should abide by the 12 points of the Scout Law.
