"Creepy Crawlies" is a dance-on-film performance that was full choreographed and staged by myself. My capstone idea came to life when I recalled an idea from the Queen Creek Dance programs 2024 spring show called "Lore". The theme of our show was mythical tales that evoked senses of eeriness, joy, nostalgia and many other emotions within the audience. Although my idea wasn't used for the show, it became the inspiration for this very capstone project. Over the next couple of months, I spent my time choosing and editing music, coming up with choreography that would relate to both the overall theme of the story and the music, putting together formations that would suit the setting and picking talented dancers to help me bring my project to life. From there on, both myself and my dancers worked endlessly to closely perfect every element of the project until it was time to record. With the help of the film club here at Queen Creek High School, the dance was brought to the screen. I would like to thank each and every dancer, my videographer and my mentor for helping me and guiding me through my capstone project process. Without them, this project couldn't have been as remotely beautiful as it is now. This truly has been such a wonderful experience where I had the privilege to learn how to take on the role of a choreographer, teacher and director.
