How to activate your own modem using the Xfinity app?
Before you begin your activation process, you need to follow these steps:
Connect one end of the coaxial wire to the wall outlet if the home has a pre-built coaxial outlet.
Insert the cable's opposite end into the Xfinity gateway.
After confirming that the wired connections are secure, Turn on the devices by plugging in the power chords.
Activate New Modem Using Xfinity App
Download and install the Xfinity App from the store.
Open it on your smartphone after installing it.
Click on the ‘Create one’ link.
Enter your email address, mobile number, and subscription details.
Set up a username and password, and you can use the application after verifying the details.
Now select "sign in" after opening the app.
Click the icon in the left corner after logging in. You will be directed to a page that contains all of the information about your account and any linked devices.
Click "Activate XFi gateway or modem" after swiping to the bottom.
The information about the Xfinity gateway can be manually entered by highlighting the relevant points or by using the camera to scan a QR code.
The app will now prompt you to confirm that the coaxial wire is connected and the gateway is powered on after you've input the details.
Click next, as we have already completed the step beforehand.
Your Xfinity gateway is a modem-router combo.
Now, give it time for Xfinity to configure and turn on the device.
Keep a safe note of the WiFi name and password.
Click "Confirm" to complete.
