The Chehalis Basin Strategy Works for Basin Residents

Safe and flood-prepared communities. Abundant salmon and steelhead. Strong nature-based economies.

The Chehalis Basin Strategy is protecting communities from flood damages, restoring critical habitat for aquatic life, and ensuring the Basin is safe and prosperous for generations to come.

The Strategy is an ongoing partnership between scientists, state, local and tribal governments, nonprofits, conservation districts, farmers, foresters, fishers, and residents just like you. Many projects work directly with Basin landowners using funding from the Washington State Legislature and other sources—adding property value, increasing safety, sharing technical expertise, and improving the land for future generations.
