Prepare your daughter for an unforgettable adventure with the Blue Mountains Canyoning Trip, where students will experience the best of the Blue Mountains over five days and four nights. This unique journey is designed to challenge, inspire and create lasting memories in one of Australia’s most beautiful and rugged landscapes.
Guided by the experts at Blue Mountains Adventure Company, the trip offers a blend of excitement, teamwork and self-discovery as students explore hidden canyons, crystal-clear rock pools and breathtaking waterfalls.
Throughout the five days, participants will navigate various canyons using techniques like abseiling, rock scrambling and water crossings - all while being safely guided by professional instructors. Along the way, they'll learn essential outdoor skills, foster resilience and develop a sense of camaraderie that will last long after the trip concludes.
The adventure culminates with a magical, night-time descent of the Grand Canyon, a highlight of the journey. As dusk settles, your daughter and her peers will experience the canyon in a whole new light - illuminated only by headlamps and the eerie glow of glow-worms lining the canyon walls.
It's a truly awe-inspiring and surreal experience, offering a perfect end to an action-packed and transformative trip.
Participants should be prepared for a physically demanding adventure. The canyoning experience will require students to be comfortable with heights, as they will be abseiling down cliffs and navigating challenging terrain. Hiking back out of the canyons can also be strenuous, with steep ascents and varying conditions to test their endurance. Additionally, the nature of the activity means students will often be wet - whether from crossing streams, plunging into cool rock pools or walking through waterfalls.
This canyoning experience is not just about the thrill of the adventure - it’s also about developing leadership, confidence, and environmental awareness.
It’s a journey students will remember for years to come, filled with moments of excitement, reflection and personal growth.
Level of challenge for the Blue Mountains is a 6/10.
On this program students will be exposed to the rope activities of abseiling, rock climbing and canyoning. With the backdrop of the UNESCO World Heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park and in the company of qualified rock and roping guides, students will develop their skills and discover their potential through a range of progressive challenges designed to push their boundaries in a safe and encouraging environment. On the final night of the program students will descend into the Grand Canyon by torchlight and discover a world of glow worms as abundant as stars on a clear night.
All essential medications must be packed by parents/carers in their daughter's baggage. Parents/carers should place medication in a snap lock bag, clearly labelled with the student’s name and accompanied by instructions including dosage and time of administration. These must be handed to your daughter’s expedition staff at the commencement of the program.
If students have undeclared medication with them on the program, our staff may be legally required to not administer these medications.
Students will be accommodated in tents for the duration of the program. Supervision is provided overnight by College staff in nearby tents.
All meals will be provided to students from dinner on the first day of the program, to breakfast on the day of their departure. Students will need to bring some morning tea for the first day of the program in their day pack and require a small amount of cash for the purchase of lunch in Katoomba on the last day.
Pymble has asked students to leave technology behind for their Outdoor Education Programs. This affords students the chance to have a digital detox and be present in the experiences they are having whilst away without the distractions. It is not often that students get this opportunity to switch off and enjoy what is happening in the here and now, so we appreciate your support around this.
