In 2021, all Year 10 students will have the opportunity to create and curate their Passport during the Directions Program.
Program (main features):
Week 2: Engaging with a small group of Year 10 students as a focus group to inform our use of language (to avoid teacher speak) and inform which activities were most useful; the program will be sent out to you for early feedback.
The Week 5 session will be focused on identifying strengths (using the VIA Character Strengths survey), introspection, communication and collaboration, and questioning the utility/impact/role of branding as it relates to identity.
The Week 6 session will be focused on the formation of a personal brand through a brand association activity and reflection questions - the aim is to prepare the girls to consider their own personal brand and feel confident articulating elements of themselves to others.
The Week 9 session will see the girls creating their Portfolium using imagery or narrative from their camp experience; we anticipate using reflection questions to provide opportunities for sharing their experience(s) for a specific audience and practice using the platform/tool.
Where to next:
We are investigating opportunities for the girls to continue this work in a curricular subject; our early thinking is to find a common assessment task and engage the Learning Area to deliver a scaffold that would see girls uploading an assessment task then summarising their learning and using a tagging system to highlight skill acquisition.
