Welcome Tigers!

I'm Ms. Schiff (Poirier). I was born and raised in Los Angeles county. I am an alumna of California State Fullerton University and got my degree in English (I emphasized in American Literature and poetry) and my MA in American Studies. I played violin for 10 years, was involved in Comedy Sportz, choir, AGS honors society, and was on student body government in college. Currently, in my spare time I like to hang out with family, travel (I have been to 18 countries so far), learn Spanish, take care of my dog and cat, and create art.

I have been a proud Tiger for what will be my 15th year. I would like to express my gratitude to my students and the greater Valencia community. Staff, parents, and students have made my VHS/PYLUSD experience like none other.

In addition, I have been an editor for a magazine in Orange County for two years and a columnist for multiple years. These skills have allowed me to assist El Tigre, the publication on campus. Check out our El Tigre website sometime!

My overall objective is to make my physical and virtual classroom engaging, collaborative, informative, and a safe place where all students feel valued. Every student in my classroom has a voice and their educational and emotional needs are of the utmost importance. Together, as a VHS family, we are here to ensure your student's success.
