*DUE: Monday, August 17th (Third Day of School)
The purpose of the summer assignment is to provide you with the prerequisite background knowledge required for the start of the academic calendar, while introducing you to the concepts and themes of human geography.
The assignment must be neatly handwritten in your own words.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the expectations for the summer assignment you may contact Mr. Bradford via email (jobradford@pylusd.org). During the summer, it may take Mr. Bradford a few days to respond.
PART 1: SUMMER READING - UNIT 1, MODULE 0
You will read Unit 1, Module Zero in our AP Human Geography textbook (pages 1-7). As you read Module Zero, you will complete the Module Zero Reading Guide. You will turn in the Reading Guide on Monday, August 17th (the 3rd day of school).
The purpose of this reading assignment is to give you a general idea of what we will be covering in AP Human Geography this year, as well as giving you a basic overview of what is included in each of our 7 units. It also exposes you to the structure and style of the college level textbook we will be using this year. Hopefully, reading this section of our textbook and completing the reading guide will allow us to hit the ground running in August!
Remember that your reading guide must be handwritten. So print out the reading guide then answer each question by hand. Click the links below to access the reading and the reading guide.
PART 2: MAP ASSESSMENT
To complete this portion of the Summer Assignment, reference the AP HuG Summer Assignment instruction packet located at the top of this page. There you will find the list of countries, cities, natural features, and world regions you will need to identify on a multiple choice quiz.
You will not turn in anything for this portion of the summer assignment, but you will be quizzed on the content on Monday, August 17th (the third day of school).
