In August of 2018, Sue De Bievre, CEO of Beany, (a group of game changing accountants using technology to reinvent business for small business start ups) gave a TED talk entitled “How Non-Binary Thinking can Change the World”, in it is a part where she spoke about Quantum Tunnelling at the atomic level, a ball of particles hitting a completely impenetrable layer, yet sometimes particles sail straight through the layer, in a slight path. The example she gave was a person throwing a ball against a concrete wall, ball bounces back after a couple of tries but with Quantum Tunnelling, it sails past through the wall into the garden. The artist relates this to Transmission Art through Quantum Tunnelling, of finding that slight path to transmit art and form, at the atomic level.
The artist, Mario Serrano, uses glitch art to investigate the 'slight path' that will open the 'cracks' to make the transmission of messages through time possible. The messages come from his future self, directly addressing his current self through databending, deconstruction and reconstruction of typography, shapes and images.
