HS Band Festival
-Saturday March 14th, St. Johns HS, 1:05pm performing
-Students will need to arrive here in the band room by 10:45 am.
-Our regular all black
-We would love to have an audience, I would have preferred to play in the auditorium in Bay City that was also open, but wanted to make it easier for everyone to come out and listen!
-At 1:05 we play three piece in the auditorium for judges
-After that we can all move with the audience to the band where we are judged on reading new music.
-Students needing to leave with family should be done performing by about 1:35
-Students riding the bus, we will grab some grub and should be back to get the kiddos back in time for 4:30 mass for those wondering!
Camp/NYC 2027 Trip meeting
-Thursday March 19th, 6:30pm in the band room
-Feel very confident that our trip plan will be like 99% final by then, should be close on the cost.
-Not required, but for sure suggested especially if you've never had a student on one of our band trips
Honors Band
-Saturday April 18th, all day, I'm hoping they have the names for us this week or next.
Commencements
-Tuesday May 19th, report time is usually like 6:15
-Should be done by 8pm
-I think we are back in the Field House instead of outside. That is a lot less work for our HS Band that week and we sound much better inside.
Memorial Day
-Monday May 25th
-Our biggest gig of the year, we get to travel to the 3 area cemeteries and help our VFW and American Legion Community Members honor the fallen.
-I'm a little biased, but I think giving up part of a 3-day weekend to do this is one of the absolutely most selfless things I see in our school from our band students.
-Usually about 9am-3pm.
Band Camp 2026
-July 12-17, we need students here every year
-With winter confessions almost done, I should be able to get some of the adults needed and paperwork sorted out here. Almost done talking to Eagle Village about some of their chances.
NYC 2027
-Not final, but it will land between March 17th and 23rd
-I see Palm Sunday, we've worked around that before
-If we leave on the 17th, we will NOT see the St. Patty's day Shenanigans, last trip it was all over and cleaned up by the time we got there on the 18th.
-I always check here with our office staff, but this is the time to bring any conflicts up
