departure from Wrocław at 8:45 - back to Wrocław city center around 18.00
The breathtaking Książ Castle is often referred to as the "pearl" of Lower Silesia, and not without reason! The largest castle in the region of Silesia is an example of eclecticism in architecture.
Built in the 13th century it was inhabited for hundreds of years by the Hochberg family, one of the richest and most influential families in Prussia.
A beautiful and impressive building located in a picturesque landscape park - this is how you can describe the Książ Castle. The fortified building called Fürstenstein was built in this place over seven hundred years ago and was a very important point on the map of the defense chain of Silesia. With time, it served more and more different functions, so that today, after the turbulent period of war, it serves as the cultural centre of the entire area, attracting a lot of tourists.
The visitors can admire the majesty of numerous chambers, terraces and surrounding gardens.
Developing and Managing Joint Master Programmes
Abstract
Joint master programmes are an effective way for universities to collaborate across borders and offer students a unique educational experience that combines the strengths of multiple institutions. Universities Language Policies and their Impact on international recruitment: English as a medium of instruction
Abstract
English has become a global language and is increasingly being used as a medium of instruction in educational institutions around the world. This workshop will address the following questions:
What policy, if any, exists among T.I.M.E. members concerning their language of instruction? Indeed, should universities adopt an official policy with regard to courses in English?
In those cases where such a policy exists, has this had any impact on the recruitment of international students? Is it really necessary to offer courses in English if we wish to recruit International students?
Is there a danger of such a policy leading to a loss of ‘cultural identity’?
How to convince / motivate Professors / Teachers to accept to teach in a language which is not their native one?
More importantly, how to help and accompany them to do so?
Expected outcomes
The workshop will also showcase successful case studies and examples of effective use of English as a medium of instruction in diverse educational contexts. Participants will gain insights into the best practices that have been proven to work across different levels of education and disciplines.
