About Us

Jeannine

I am a Grande Prairie original recipe, and after completing my Education degree through the TEN program, I began teaching at Peace Wapiti Academy in 2014. For the last nine years I have been teaching science and drama, and for 5 of those years, I was the inclusive education coordinator.  As we all walked through the chaos of online learning, I found myself drawn to the effective and efficient use of technology in education. This led me to start a master's degree in educational technology and, ultimately, to this role which has been an amazing transition and journey. I am passionate about coding, robots, inclusion, and musical theatre! When I am not at work or studying, you can find me catering to every need of my cat, Mrs. Bigglesworth, who rules the Younger household with an iron paw.

Leah

I began my PWPSD career in 2004, but have been teaching since 1994.  In that time, I have taught every subject in Grades 1 to 8, including having 4 grades all together when I started my career teaching French Immersion.  I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to teach in several schools around the world including Egypt, Costa Rica, and Guatemala.  I realize that I thrive on change, which is exactly why I love my position on the Education Technologist team.  With the ever changing world that is technology I am passionate about helping everyone around me become more confident and comfortable integrating it into their daily lives. Technology has arrived.  It is not going away. We must be aware of it's capabilities and consequences  and use it in a way that will enhance our lives rather than impede them.
