For grades K-2, we recommend the teacher create the screencast. It could explain something to students or showcase student work for families.
For students working independently, the tutorial video above will show them how to use Screencastify. Students can pause, rewind and replay the video as needed! *Tip: you may want students to wear headphones as they work independently.
For ELLs who are proficient readers, the can turn on the captions in Spanish in the above video. Go to the "Support for ELLs" page to learn how.
Drawing tools: While you are recording your screencast, use the drawing tools to draw, highlight, add emoji reactions and more!
Turn on this setting before you start recording.
Select the pen tool to circle, underline, and draw on the screen while recording.
Select the emoji tool to add emoji stickers onto the screen while recording.
Webcam: Turn on the webcam to show your face while recording This is not an option if a teacher has disabled it in the Submit assignment.
