My name is Alicia Padilla and I've been teaching for 19 years. I started as a 4th/5th grade teacher in the PVUSD school district. I found my way into 1st and 2nd grade and I'm here to stay!

I graduated from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo with a B.A. in Liberal Arts and a Multiple Subject-CLAD (Cross-cultural, Language, and Academic Development (CLAD) Certificate) teaching credential. While I attended Cal Poly, I was employed by the San Luis Obispo County Office of Education. I spent over two years working in E.D. classrooms, Alternative Education, and Special Education.

I am a blessed mother of three children. My eldest son, Payton, was born in May 2005. His brother, Hayden, arrived shortly after in November 2006. Our family was complete after the birth of our daughter, Arabella, in 2014. We are an extremely active family and love the outdoors. We enjoy camping, fishing, hiking, surfing, sports, dance, cooking, and CrossFit.

Being a primary grade teacher is like being on an awesome adventure everyday. This is the marvelous age where students learn to read. Students will learn new and exciting reading strategies this year that will help them to be lifelong readers. They will enjoy book shopping in our classroom library every week. By giving students the choice to choose a variety of books at their reading level; it helps students feel powerful, successful, and develop a love of reading.

Part of what makes our classroom successful and special are our families, volunteers, and community. I thank you for your support!
