I have a Flexible Seating-Brain Based Classroom Design

Research states that flexible seating increases motivation, engagement, and improves behavior. That's why I have stand-up desks, a futon, rockers, bean bag chairs, and cushions for my students.

My Students

I realize that every one of my students is unique and has different learning needs. I have some students who like to work at their desk and others who need to stand, kneel, or work in an independent space.

My students need a student-centered classroom, not a teacher centered classroom.

I love that I have a very diverse group of students. I have students from different socio-economic backgrounds and cultural backgrounds. My students reading levels, math levels, athletic abilities, learning needs, and learning abilities are all different. That's why I have chosen the ideal learning environment for them.
