Teach your students to do a brain dump of what they know onto their scratch paper before taking the math test. One idea might be to teach them to create their own multiplication chart from scratch on their own before starting the math test.

Teach your students to always draw the lines for the place value columns in math to help them keep the numbers in the right order and place.
