In the Classes tab, you can create a class or multiple classes. There will be a code to share with students if you would like them to join your class.
If students join a class, they will have the option to create digital games. Student-created games can be added to a Class Game Library for other students in the class to view and play (teacher approval required).
The Student Design Course is a set of teacher-led lessons meant to help students in their game design process.
Once you create a class you will see a button to download the Student Sign Up Instructions.
Students go to student.breakoutedu.com and click on SIGN UP.
Students will need the Class Code to sign up with either Breakout EDU or with Google Classroom.
In the My Classes tab, students will see the class they have joined. They can join other classes by clicking on Add Class.
Students can also Create a Game under the My Classes tab, as well as in My Games.
Games Library is where students can play each others' games once they are submitted to the teacher, approved, and added to the library by the teacher.
Once students finish creating a game and Submit it to their teacher, they will no longer be able to edit.
When the teacher views the list of students in their class, they will see a number under Games Awaiting Review. Click on the number to proceed.
Click on the title of the game for a Play button to appear. You should then be able to test out the game. Click Review and then Submit to approve it. Then you can add it to the class library.
Note: The Classes feature is still in BETA and when I tried viewing my test student's game I got an error message. If you want to try this with your students, definitely test it first.
