Senior Families! Are you ready to celebrate your future graduate? While it’s bittersweet to see them go, we’re excited to honor this incredible milestone in their lives. Below, you’ll find details about two major events coming up for the Class of 2025—Grad Night and Senior Sunset. These are beloved traditions at Aptos High School; with your support, we can create a memorable, unifying experience for our seniors as they make this important transition.

SENIOR SUNSET
Similar to how our seniors began their final year as a class by painting the Senior Steps during Senior Sunrise, they will put a button on their four years at Aptos High with Senior Sunset! All seniors are invited to gather at (x) beach for an evening of music, games, and making final high school memories on June 3rd, 2025, from 5 PM to 9 PM. The simple, yet meaningful event is free to attend.

Graduating high school is a significant accomplishment for our seniors, and we want to help them celebrate responsibly! That's why the Class of 2025 is celebrating their transition to their next chapter at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk on June 5th from 10PM to 2AM. Graduates will experience:
Four hours of free arcade games
Four hours of free mini golf
Two hours of five of the Boardwalk's top rides
All-night music, airbrush tattoos, henna & caricature artists
unlimited soft drinks, $20 Boardwalk Food Bucks, midnight munchies & more!
The event is monitored by Boardwalk security and is exclusively for seniors and chaperones to ensure safety and security!

Our goal is to make Grad Night accessible for ALL seniors! Tickets start at $135, but we're introducing a sliding scale with fundraising options. The first opportunity is a campus cleanup at Aptos High on March 15th (9AM-1PM), where students can earn $10 per hour- or up to $40 off their Grad Night ticket, plus free lunch!
Additionally, we also have a dine-to-donate fundraiser scheduled for Friday, April 25th at Aptos St. BBQ. Please consider bringing your families & using the PROMO CODE: AHS2025.

The MANDATORY Senior Meeting was on Friday, April 25th. In case you missed it, view the slides on the left for important information. Additionally, please check out the following resources to make sure you are ready for the final weeks of high school! DON'T SKIP VIEWING THE SLIDES!

VOTE for which 2 staff are reading your names @ graduation, and which staff is giving the famous staff speech!
Write a Thank You Letter to any AHS staff. Either hand it to them or give to Ms. Ortiz to deliver
Graduation Ceremony Seating Requests are due by Friday, May 16th @ 4 pm. READ THE GUIDELINES or your request will NOT be granted.

Cap & Gown catalogs will be distributed to all Seniors in their Government class on Wednesday, October 9th.
The first round of orders are happening now! Order before October 26th to receive your cap & Gown on November 13th.
Orders placed after December 1st will be processed through the Late Program, and expedited costs may apply.

Aptos High School has picked The Van Zantes as the school photographer. As this studio will be providing the photography for the yearbook, all seniors need to have their photograph taken by a Van Zante’s photographer to be included in the yearbook’s senior class pages. Appointments are necessary. Book your appointment now, before time slots get filled.
This year, for the Class of 2025, The Van Zantes are offering three session choices:
Yearbook Only FREE Session will be a head and shoulder session in one outfit taken at the high school, during select dates offered between June and July only. Parents and/or students will view a minimum of 6 images right after the session, and choose one for the yearbook at that time. These images will not be uploaded online. Come dressed and ready for photos. Allow 10 minutes of your time.
$30 Session will be a head and shoulders to hip length session in one outfit taken outdoors at the high school, during select dates offered in the summer and early fall. Parents and/or students will view 15-20 images online, purchase and choose one for the yearbook. (Yearbook images are cropped to head and shoulders for a consistent head size.) The $30 session fee will be credited to online purchase of photos for the first 2 weeks of viewing only. Come dressed and ready for photos. Allow 15-20 minutes of your time.
$350 Package Session is also available to provide one clothing change, choice of location and an opportunity for a student to personalize their portraits. We take 50-100 photos. You will view and choose your Yearbook image and print choices online. Also includes: 2-8x10s, 4-5x7s, 2-22 wallet packages from 2 poses. You must call 831-761-8800 to schedule this session.
To make an appointment for the FREE and $30 Session, go to www.vanzantes.com, go to the directory, click calendar, then click on your school logo to make an appointment. Book the day, time and type of session that you desire. Appointments are necessary.
· Book Now so you get the time and date closest to your desire.
· Dates will open up as the summer goes along.
· Payment due at session or online.
On the specified dates, the senior portraits will be taken at Aptos High in the Oak Trees. Park on the hill to the far end of the football field, behind the scoreboard. Look for our sign and Mobile Studio Van.
