About Mrs. Burr

My name is Michele Burr and I am excited to be teaching 1st grade! This will be my 

16th year teaching, my 2nd at Las Posas. I have a Bachelors Degree in Elementary and Special Education from the University of Delaware and a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from CSUN.  My husband was a Navy pilot for 20+ years, so I have taught in several other states including New Jersey, Virginia, and Maryland. I was away from teaching for 16 years so I could just be “Mom” to my three sons; Mitchell who is 22 and currently in his final year at USMA (West Point), Noah who is 21 years old and currently in his 4th year at the University of Utah and last, but certainly not least, Ian who is 18 years old and currently attending Oxnard College in the Fire Technology program.

Teaching is something I have wanted to do since I was 12 years old.  It is a passion and I am so excited to share that.  I believe all children can learn and love to watch them reach expectations they thought were unreachable.  Our classroom will be a safe place filled with sharing, exploring and making mistakes so we can grow and learn together.
