About Mrs. Burr

My name is Michele Burr and I am excited to be teaching 1st grade! This will be my 

19th year teaching, my 5th at Las Posas. I have a Bachelors Degree in Elementary and Special Education from the University of Delaware and a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from CSUN.  My husband was a Navy pilot for 20+ years, so I have taught in several other states including New Jersey, Virginia, and Maryland. I was away from teaching for 16 years so I could just be “Mom” to my three sons; Mitchell who is 25 and a 1LT in the US Army, Noah who is 24 years and a graduate of the University of Utah and last, but certainly not least, Ian who is 21 years old and currently attending Oxnard College in the Fire Technology program.

Teaching is something I have wanted to do since I was 12 years old.  It is a passion and I am so excited to share. I believe all children can learn and love to watch them reach expectations they thought were unreachable.  Our classroom will be a safe place filled with sharing, exploring and making mistakes so we can grow and learn together.
