Welcome to SRTMS PE-
I am looking forward being back for my 6th year teaching PE at SRTMS!
I began my career getting my BA in Liberal Studies at the University of La Verne, and earning my multiple and single subject credentials at ULV and my Masters in Educational Leadership from CSUN. I taught 10th and 11th grade History at Claremont High School while coaching the girls (Varsity) and boys (JV) volleyball before moving to Orange County and teaching PE, 4th grade and coaching volleyball at Heritage Oak Private School in Yorba Linda. I then moved to Camarillo and taught at Gateway Community School for 8 years before being the Dean at SRTMS in 2015 and 2nd grade at LPSSA in 2018. Overall, I hold a multiple subject, single subject (PE & Social Science) and administrative credentials and enjoy having been able to teach and lead at so many different levels in wonderful schools.
I have a 6thth grader, Kaitlyn, who luckily still enjoys having Mom on campus. My husband, Joey and I also have an almost 6 year old, Kelsey who is also at SRTMS in Kindergarten. I look forward to seeing all of the familiar faces, coaching and enjoying working with our students. It will be a great year of learning how fun and enjoyable physical education is, and how healthy living is truly a lifelong journey.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. As I will be outside the locker room most of the time, please send me an email at saquino@pleasantvalleysd.org I will do my best to get back to you within 24 hours.
