CJSF is the California Junior Scholarship Federation. It is an honor society open to 7th and 8th grade students who qualify each trimester by having a 3.5 GPA in their 4 "core" subjects (language arts, math, science, and history). When grades are released each trimester, students are given the membership application to complete and return to Mrs. Perry.
In addition to maintaining grades, CJSF also requires students to complete 5 hours a year of community service. They may satisfy this by doing one-half year of peer tutoring K-5 students (schedule set up by Mrs. Perry) OR any other community service they complete on their own.
8th graders who maintain CJSF grades for 2/3 trimesters in 7th and 8th grade, receive the CJSF gold seal on their report cards and wear gold cords with their graduation gowns.
