In module 1, students organize data to make counting and comparing easier, and advance to apply counting on as a strategy for addition.
Module 2 uses word problems to help students notice relationships between addition and subtraction.
In module 3, students use the unit of ten to make easier problems by decomposing addends and grouping them in any order.
In module 4, students explore units within the context of measurement.
In module 5, students develop an understanding of the base ten system.
In module 6 part 1 students reason about shapes and their attributes. They compose and decompose shapes, building an understanding of part–whole relationships, including fractions. In part 2, students advance place value understanding through 120, add within 100, and solve more complex word problem types.

Journal Writing
Students start the day by completing daily journals.
Students will also deepen their skills In Informational, narrative and opinion writing.
Students will engage in discussions, reading, mystery, and hands-on activities all involving Science!
Every week, students learn something new from the past!
This is a student-led lesson, where students listen to information presented on StudiesWeekly (access through clever), and students earn points for answering questions.
Read 20 minutes a night, at least 4 times a week.
Practice spelling words and Heart Words every day (writing sentences). Check the learning guide for these words.
