Please remember to check Parent Connect/Student Connect regularly to monitor your child's progress. While I use Google Classroom to share information and assignments, Parent Connect/Student Connect is the primary platform for tracking grades.
About Me:
Hello my name is Marissa Chavez. This is my 8th year teaching, and I have experience working with students from TK through 8th grade. I graduated from CSUCI with a BA in Liberal Studies, concentrating in special education. I also earned two credentials (Education Specialist and Multiple Subject) and have a MA in Education, with an emphasis on social-emotional learning, from AU. I recently received my Doctoral degree In Education (Ed.D.) , with my dissertation focusing on promoting collaboration between special and general education communities.
I love what I do and am passionate about being a supportive presence for students. Outside of teaching, I have a cat named Juice, my husband, and a wonderful family. I enjoy traveling, playing /watching sports, snowboarding and as a Ventura County local, I’m dedicated to giving back to my community by sharing the knowledge I’ve gained throughout my educational journey.
