Homework Policy
Homework is a meaningful part of the curriculum and is assigned Monday through Thursday. The purpose of homework is to reinforce basic concept development, to expand and enrich topics covered in the classroom and to develop good study habits!
Please remember that homework is meant to provide students with an opportunity to practice skills to support continued learning in the classroom, and is not meant to be challenging, stressful, or upsetting. My hope is that students enjoy their time at home with family and loved ones, playing outside and curiously exploring what excites and interests them!
If something comes up and your child isn't able to complete his/her homework, please have your child complete it the following night. Also, communication is key so please let me know if your child is struggling with his/her homework or in class.
Thank you.
Reading
We have a nightly reading fluency program in addition to our regular homework. Please work on comprehension and retell each evening.
Monthly Reading Challenge is an enrichment and opportunity for your child to read choices material. This will begin in September.
Math
Nightly math pages using our Eureka Math2 curriculum will come home inside the BLUE Homework folder. I will also include assignments details in our weekly newsletter.
Weekly Newsletter
Every Sunday evening, I will send the Weekly Newsletter through Seesaw application and additional information for our classroom.
