8th Grade E.L.A.
This course implements 8th Grade Common Core Language Arts Standards. It further develops language skills of reading, writing, listening, and speaking. The writing curriculum will focus on journalism, argument, and response to literature genres using the writer’s workshop model. The course includes studies of various literary genres including short stories, poetry, novels, drama and non-fiction. This course will emphasize the skills and preparation necessary for higher-level education.
