Welcome!
I am Mrs. Garcia and I am so excited to be your teacher this year! Teaching has always been my passion and our Science department has such fun activities to make learning fun, so I hope to inspire future scientists in my classroom. This is my third year teaching at Monte Vista and I am so excited about all the new things our scientists will learn this year.
I graduated from Woodbury University with a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts and received my teaching credential and master's degree as an Education Specialist for grades K-12 after working as a paraeducator for a local High School. My main drive for becoming a special education teacher is to remove the stigma surrounding special education and make a difference in our community through my students by guiding them to learn at their full potential with multiple modalities and resources.
I grew up in Ventura and moved to Camarillo 21 years ago where I now raise two children of my own. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going to the beach, camping, and serving our community!
I can't wait to make new memories and great experiences with you all! Go Toros!
