A little bit about Transitional Kindergarten... and me!

Transitional Kindergarten is year one of a two year program (the second year is Kindergarten).  This is a very exciting and important time of learning in your child’s life, and I am pleased to have the opportunity to contribute to that learning.  I look forward to helping your child grow in many areas – socially, academically and developmentally – to name a few.  Thank you for entrusting your child to me.  It is going to be a wonderful school year!

This will be my 9th year teaching TK!  I have been teaching in Pleasant Valley School District for over 10 years.  I have also taught Kindergarten and First Grade.  I have a BA in English from Cal State University, Channel Islands. I also received a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, along with a Single Subject add-on credential in English, at CSUCI. Go Dolphins! I have a Master’s Degree in Teaching with an Emphasis on Professional Learning Communities, or PLCs.  Last,  I have a certification in Early Childhood Education.   Along with having a passion for teaching, I am first and foremost a lifelong learner and avid reader!  Libraries rock!

When I am not teaching or reading, my other joy filled moments include:  walking, cooking, writing, dancing, playing piano, Karaoke, and spending time with my family and friends.
