Homework Philosophy
My homework philosophy is simple. I expect students to read 20 minutes per weekday and I highly encourage some read-aloud time with a family member (if possible). A weekly reading choice menu is sent home filled with creative ways to read and has other enrichment opportunities (such as math review) but these are optional based on your family evening demands. I will do my best to send books home to read selected by your child. My "home reading program" usually begins in late September. Students work hard all day at school and need to play, enjoy the outdoors, cultivate friendships, and enjoy family time in the evenings. Please have your child get 8-10 hours of rest each night, practice a calm morning routine, and come to school with a full tummy so they can have a successful day of learning.
