Mrs. Cowell's 2nd Grade VSP
Classroom # 13
Classroom # 13
Welcome to Room 13!
My name is Mrs. Marianna Cowell, and I am excited to be your child's teacher this year at Camarillo Heights STEM Academy.
This is my fifth year at CHSA and my 21st year in education. Before joining CHSA, I taught special education in Iceland for ten years, worked as a Special Education Instructional Assistant in California, and taught in Tennessee. I hold a Master's Degree in Autism Spectrum Disorder and a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Special Education.
I grew up in the small town of Siglufjörður, Iceland, and moved to California with my husband, who serves in the military. We live in Port Hueneme with our three dogs, who definitely keep life fun and busy!
I believe every child learns differently, and my goal is to create a classroom where every student feels safe, valued, and successful. Our classroom is built around structure, consistency, visual supports, hands-on learning, communication, and celebrating every achievement—big or small. Watching students gain confidence, independence, and joy in learning is the best part of being a teacher.
I believe that parents and teachers are partners in a child's success. Open communication is very important to me, and I encourage you to reach out whenever you have questions, concerns, or something exciting to share about your child. Together, we can make this a wonderful and successful school year.
Thank you for trusting me to be part of your child's educational journey. I look forward to getting to know your family and making many wonderful memories together this year!
Welcome to Room 13—I can't wait for an amazing year!
