About Miss Smith-
The 2022-2023 school year will be my 5th year at Monte Vista.
Before coming to Monte Vista I taught high school math for several years. It has been really fun to help my middle schoolers learn the skills they will need when they advance to high school. I have never been a "math person" and really struggled with math when I was a student. Nowadays, I LOVE being a math teacher and find it very rewarding to help my students demystify math concepts.
When I am not teaching I am an avid adventurer and love to travel. I have only lived in Ventura County for the last 7 years and am still learning new things every day about our amazing county.
I am also a fur mom to a rowdy pack of dogs, who luckily share my wanderlust. My students inadvertently hear a lot about my travels and dogs as they are often the subject of our word problems.
